Recycling Center Adding Services at Temporary Location
A Message from the Wright County Compost & Recycling Center:
The Wright County Compost & Recycling Center’s temporary location (5538 85th St. NW in Maple Lake) is pleased to announce that starting today (Monday, Aug. 18) it is adding additional items that can be accepted. The facility will now accept electronics (some for a fee, please see our fee schedule), and scrap metal as well as having a re-use room once again for residents in need of spray paint, paints, stains, cleaners, and other free chemicals. Items in the re-use room are on a first come, first served basis and we cannot guarantee the tables will be full. We ask that you only take what you need and leave other items for other residents. The temporary facility will continue to accept household hazardous waste, curbside recycling, brush, grass and leaves.
The Center also announced that, going forward, there is a limit for curbside recycling. There will be a container placed outside the area where the curbside drop-off is and residents will fill that container as the measurement of what they are allowed to bring for free. This may be an inconvenience for some. However, in order to be fair, this free drop-off is for all residents in quantity and frequency for the entire county and the space that is available.

A few helpful tips to remember when you are recycling your recyclables. Republic asks that you clean them out. Please don’t leave any food product or liquid in the container.
Republic also requests that you don’t bag your recycling. If it is bagged, it will get thrown out. You can put it in a paper bag, but you must first dump out the contents into the recycling container and then put in the paper bag.
Recycling Day 2024: Saturday, September 14. Postcard with prices will be sent out soon. Items accepted appliances, tires, batteries, electronics, mattresses, furniture, light bulbs and scrap metal will all be accepted from township residents.
A new Calendar for 2024 was mailed to residents first week of January. If you did not receive one and wish to have one mailed please e-mail woodland.township@gmail.com.
